My 15 minutes (seconds) of fame

On our way to Disneyland last week we were listening to NPR in the car and they were discussing the recent California State Supreme Court's ruling upholding Prop. 8. I called in to voice my opinion and was shocked when they actually picked up the phone. I have tried calling in a few times in the past couple of years regarding a range of topics but have ALWAYS had a busy signal. I have also written a few letters to the editor of the Los Angeles Times and never once been published.
I was so caught off guard that they took my call that I sounded like a bumbling fool. (hence i am not posting a link for anyone to listen to)
It was really weird and kind of exhilarating to hear myself on the radio.

The happiest place on Earth

We celebrated Mike's birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth-Disneyland. Although maybe Blake would call it the most terrifying place on earth. He was crying all during the Jungle Cruise ride because he was scared of the fake animals, and going on Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain nearly sent him over the edge. It was a fun day and a good way to spend Mike's special day(especially since he got in FREE) I had to post a rare picture of Julia actually SMILING!!! In most pictures (as in the one below) she is stone faced, hence one of her nicknames.
P.S. I kept on searching for one of the Disney princesses so I could get my picture taken with her, but no luck. :) ha ha

They're back!!!!

Today while grocery shopping I saw something that was almost too good to be true. Sitting right there in the cookie aisle, my eyes spotted my favorite Mother's cookies. How can this be I thought? Mother's cookies went under last year. At first I thought that perhaps the store was just getting rid of inventory, but there was no clearance price tag on the bags of cookies. I bought a few bags and when I got home my friend "google" told me that apparently Kellog's bought the rights to Mother's cookies and is bringing them back. Thank you Kellog's for making sure that my children get to know the waxy goodness of circus animal cookies. I couldn't be more excited!!!!!!!

I love Target

Thank you Target for selling these shirts in matching sizes for my 2 little boys!!!

And thank you Target for clearancing out these diapers so that I could fill one entire cupboard in my garage with cheap diapers. Last week I spent $200 on these. I never thought I could get so excited about diapers. (perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I currently have 2 critters in diapers)
Target is my favorite store EVER!!!! and thank goodness it is a mere 2 minutes from my house.

I like BIG babies and I cannot lie....

Knock on wood- Cole sleeps from midnight until 5am almost every night and then again until about 8:30 or 9:00am. This is just like what Blake did and I have to attribute it to their larger than life size. This is why we love big babies around here!!!

Happy Mother's Day to the best Mom on the Earth!

I am lucky to have the best Mom around. She is soooooo very helpful in every possible way. Let's discuss some of the things that Mom did when she was here helping with Cole for over a week.

-Took great care of the 2 older kids and Cole

-Made 4 batches of Strawberry jam

-Mended my very frayed kitchen rug (no easy task)

-Cleaned my bathroom

-Cleaned my house

-Ran all kinds of errands

-Dealt with a screaming newborn at 3:00am

-Changed countless newborn blowouts and stinky toddler diapers

-Did laundry practically everyday

-Made breakfast, lunch and dinner and treats :)

-Ironed clothes (hmmm this usually only happens when she comes over)

-Helped plant the garden

-Got me a tall glass of water every time I fed the baby

-But most of all she just loved us, all of us.

I feel so very blessed to have her as my mother. I cannot imagine those first several days without her constant help. I got tired just watching her. When you grow up with so many siblings, it is wonderful to get Mom all to yourself sometimes.
Of course I cried when she left a few days ago. I always cry when she leaves after I have a baby because I am afraid of doing it without her help.

I love you Mom!!
