The worst $1000 I've ever spent
A few weeks ago I was in a fender bender. This is the damage done to my car at 5mph. That damage cost about $5,ooo to fix, of which my insurance covered all but $1,ooo. It makes me sick to think of all of the many ways I could have spent that $1000, although I am grateful that we were not hurt. Add this to the list of reasons why I will never be able to acquire a serger:(

Loving that your biggest lament is that you are one step further from "acquiring" a serger. You're hilarious.
THis is crazy...this happened to us not too long ago. We were going about 5 mph MAYBE! And the damage was about 5500! Luckily we only had to pay 500...but still...money is money. Glad nobody got hurt.
Arghh! My condolences. This happened to my sister, except that her van was so old, insurance totaled the car and gave her $1500. $1500 does NOT buy a new van! Did you get the whole "and now you need to replace any car-seats in the accident" line from your insurance?
Good thing it was 5 mph!
Next time I see a serger at a garage sale for $15 I'm buying it for you - I don't know why I was feeling so cheap that morning. Keep your eyes open at garage sales and check craigs list -you'll get one -

that's awful. I'm astonished that was at 5mph. RE: the money. That's exactly how I felt about my $500 ticket.
Amy ! You never told me you had a fender bender. I have talked you many of times and you have not mentioned this. I am SO sorry that you had this incident happen. It must have been SO scary once you saw how bad the damage was. Glad you guys weren't hurt in the incident. Sorry to hear it cost you SO much !
